Five Tips For A Stylish Low Profile Bathroom
The basics of the cutting edge of bathroom design haven’t changed an awful lot in the last decade. You can have any colour you want, as long as the colour you want is white. Not that this is a situation I feel we should rush to change: with most Bathroom materials being durable and high quality these days, a white bathroom really only needs a little extra diligence to look pristine. And when a white bathtub is clean, you’re inclined to feel cleaner after you’ve had a good long soak in it.
Without any broad strokes of colour to apply to the modern bathroom suite, bathroom interior design has been focusing on hiding away some of the cruder elements of the bathroom away. This means fewer pipes, water tanks and pedestals on display: if it doesn’t need to be there, it can be hidden away or replaced entirely by frames and bolts similarly concealed.
If you want to achieve a bathroom look which minimises clutter and emphasises simplicity and bold curves and forms, there are several Bathroom features that will help you. Here are five of the most useful:

Concealed Cisterns
Whilst cisterns don’t need to be offensive to the eye, their presence isn’t exactly essential. By concealing the cistern, the toilet appears to take up about half of the space: of course, if you have to build in a false wall to achieve the effect, this isn’t strictly true. But in design, the impression of spatial economy is everything. Concealed cisterns are typically thin, in order to minimise space lost and are easy to install.

Vanity Units
Hiding your bathroom bits and pieces in the walls is all very well and good, but it can make maintenance a little tricky. An elegant solution is to simply hide things away in cabinets and vanity units. Featuring wood effect panelling or the always popular white acrylics of the rest of the bathroom, these units can feature additional storage and allow easy access to the plumbing.

Undermounted Basins
Whether using a pre-made vanity unit or something more bespoke, an under-mounted basin is the ultimate in basin spatial economy. Undermounted basins are sinks recessed into surfaces, providing a beautiful low-profile effect.

Low Profile Shower Trays
Freestanding shower enclosures are by their nature rather intrusive in the Bathroom space. Even with nice new transparent panelling, the shower’s footprint is visible: hardly a design atrocity, but not something you actually have to put up with. Low Profile Shower trays step up around an inch from the bathroom floor whilst providing all the drainage you’ll need for a powerful shower. No more tripping over the shower-edge when you step in: an essential for a true walk-in shower.
Wall Hung Toilets
In conjunction with a toilet mounting frame (and usually a concealed cistern too), a wall-hung toilet dramatically cuts down the space a toilet occupies. The effect of having a toilet that is visually floating over the floor is also rather ultra-modern too!
