Tyson Chandler Expected To Sign Deal With New York Knicks
NBA champions Dallas Mavericks have received a bit of bad news concerning their superstar Center Tyson Chandler. According to ESPN, the New York Knicks have jumped ahead of the Golden State Warriors in the race to sign Chandler. Sources are telling ESPN that ”It’s 98 percent sure that Tyson is going to wind up with the Knicks.” To be able to afford a player like Tyson, the Knicks would have to shed some salary by either trading Chauncey Billups and Ronny Turiaf, or using the forthcoming amnesty clause.
Landing Chandler gives the NY Knicks the oppurtunity to to offer star forward Amare Stoudemire to the New Orleans Hornets in a trade scenario for point guard Chris Paul, who badly wants to reunite with Chandler after their time together with the Hornets. The Warriors are still trying to win Tyson over by offering him an even sweeter four-year offer at $60 million to outbid the Knicks.
