Careers That Will Never Perish
Choosing to change careers at any juncture of your life needs to be a well-researched task that must be tactically done so your income is not lost for too long of a period of time. Researching your field of interests and understanding what field is stable and which are in dire straits should be the first chore on the list; in doing this task, we have done some research for you in hopes of making your next career move decision somewhat easier. Although what is deemed as ‘hot’ tends to change from day to day, these currently hot career fields will remain stable and in high demand for the next several decades.
Nurses
Believe it or not, people still get sick and need hospitalization from time to time and the need for skilled nursing remains perhaps the number one field in demand with jobs available in virtually every city in the U.S. and higher than average salaries with attractive compensation packages. LPN’s can expect to make in the low to mid $30′s a year while registered nurses can expect double or more that salary depending on location.
Social Media Managers
As you may expect, social media has become equally common to the business as the individual in terms of usage. Someone needs to monitor activity and respond to conversations or request, leaving the opportunity for social media managers to slide in and assist. Expect this to average low to mid $20′s until results are actually proven to work with each business’s social media efforts; it will grow incrementally the next 4-6 years, so jump in while the trend is hot.
Truck Driving
Love to travel and have no tie-downs such as family or children? You could become a truck driver and dive into the 300,000+ annual job openings that are annually available throughout the trucking industry. No education is needed; extensive on-the-job training is provided – most of the time paid – and you can expect first year earnings to amass $30k easily, if not more. Be prepared to live in constant ‘beast mode’ to handle the demand of pick-ups and deliveries on a tight schedule.
Vocational Teachers
If you have a penchant for helping and teaching others at the post-secondary level, you would be an excellent candidate for this position that has an annual demand of 210,000+ and continues to grow as the demand to get skilled workers trained and certified increases. Earnings tend to top $40k and the benefits of helping others to learn will last a lifetime. Consider this field if you want stability in a career field with no signs of losing opportunity.
Outside Sales
Manufacturers spend time making quality products for you, me, and the rest of the business world, yet someone has to sell these goods, which is where outside sales comes in. This field will not let up, period: the higher the cost of the goods being sold, the more the commission a salesman can make. Average salesman can net $35-$40k a year if the product sells themselves and little effort is put into cold or warm calls; if you are a go-getter and could sell anything with a price tag attached, you are looking in the upwards of $100k plus. This particular field is strictly propelled on the motivation of the salesman.
