Brandon Marshall Goes Beast Mode, Catching 4 Touchdown Passes In Pro Bowl Game
A lot of players treat the Pro Bowl game as a glorified scrimmage, taking the opportunity to play for fun instead of playing to win. Brandon Marshall is not one of those players. The Miami Dolphins star receiver had a monster game, catching six passes for 176 yards, and a Pro Bowl record 4 touchdown passes.
Asked why he played so hard, Brandon said “You never know when you’re going to be back and I wanted to go all out today because it could be my last Pro Bowl.” The talented receiver was named the MVP of the Pro Bowl, joining the ranks of other NFL greats like Walter Payton and Jerry Rice on the MVP banners.
He also went on to say “ ”It’s a Pro Bowl. Some guys are playing 100(%), some guys are playing 90, some guys aren’t playing at all, but it means a lot to be up in the rafters with some of these guys.” The 59 points scored by the AFC sent a clear message on that day, and the combined 100 points is the second highest total ever scored in a Pro Bowl. A touchdown shy of the record 107 points scored in 2004. The final score of the day was AFC- 59 NFC- 41.
All the AFC players were paid a record $50,000 for the win, while the NFC players still went home flush with a $25,000 dollar check.
