Obakki: International Fashion Design House and More

On Wednesday, February 8th I attended the Obakki Fashion Showcase. I wasn’t sure what to expect considering that I had never heard of the line before and it was from Canada. However I was pleasantly surprised for sure. I loved the warm hues, the simple details, and the classic structure. The women’s clothing was very well put together. I loved the Fall colors beiges, browns, grays, and blacks. The dresses flow so effortlessly, the draping and hemlines on the models was flawless. Over all the line is subtly seductive. Here’s more about the Obakki Collection:

“Obakki is a luxury fashion brand built on modern style. It speaks to a new generation of women who seek refined, effortlessly cool clothes that reflect one’s individuality and lifestyle.

Founded by Creative Director, Treana Peake, in Vancouver BC, Obakki is an international design house that is building a strong following of fashion insiders and loyal clientele. Recently featured in top fashion publications such as Vogue, InStyle, and WWD, Obakki has also become a favorite of Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, Tyra Banks, Rumi Neely (fashiontoast.com) and many more.

The line offers a full range of separates designed to be worn together, layered or apart. Obakki women’s collection is the perfect juxtaposition — elegant yet relaxed, sophisticated and rustic, polished yet casual. Each delivery compliments the other, yet stands alone in strength and style.

Obakki is actively engaged in making a positive global change through the Obakki Foundation, an organization that supports humanitarian causes. Its mission is to provide people in developing countries the opportunity to use thoughts, ideas, art and fashion to gain empowerment and support. The Obakki Foundation Collection features a range of screen-printed t-shirts, scarves and totes, as well as a coffee table book filled with the art and words of children living in orphanages in Cameroon, Africa. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of these products goes back to directly improve their lives and the lives of those around them.

Based in Vancouver, its retail points now span the globe. The brand is carried in over 70 select retail boutiques across the United States and Canada, including stores such as Ron Herman, Satine, Madison, Max, TNT, Traffic and Shopbop. Obakki and its Foundation collection are also available for worldwide purchase online.”
