A volcanic island named Santorini sits between two Greek islands, los and Anafi. It is a popular spot for those visiting the area due to its breathtaking views and natural beaches which appear in a variety of colors including red, black and white due to the different types of volcanic soil. You may have actually heard the island referred to as Thira. The name Santorini is often given to the islands that surround Thira, which has its own active volcano.
For those who would like to visit the island, there are a few things that should be known prior to arrival. For one, the island has historically not had its own fresh source of water, while it is potable today, only bottled water should be ingested while visiting. Secondly, the easiest way to reach the islands is by way of Athens. From there you can fly, that is if you can get a ticket. They do fill up fast so you may also opt to travel by ferry.
