Perth is located on the west coast of Australia, the capital of the state of Western Australia.  Since the mining boom occurred a few years ago, Perth has experienced substantial growth and development from what was once a small country town to a small city. As Perth has spread out, there are many more places to live, this article describes just 4 of these regions. 

1) Northern Suburbs

These are north of Perth CBD and has reasonable sized and priced houses, which are near the beach, with reasonable schools to attend.  Joondulup is the largest city in the northern suburbs has one of the biggest shopping complexes in the southern hemisphere.  It has now become its very own satellite town outside of Perth.

2) The City

There are not that many apartments in downtown Perth.  Therefore there are very few people who live in the actual city centre, it tends to be mostly businesses.  Northbridge used to be the main entertainment centre of the city, it has lots of bars, restaurants and clubs and also home to China town.  People who want to live near the city tend to live in Northbridge or Subiaco.  Subi (known to residents) has a new broad range of attractions, shops, restaurants and clubs. Subi is only two stops away from central Perth on the train line, meaning you can walk into the city.

3) Western Suburbs

Located just outside of Perth, Cottesloe, Claremont, Dalkeith, Mosman Park are just some of the neighbourhoods that make up the Western Suburbs.  Cottesloe is mainly a residential area with ocean views and home to the famous Rottnest swim which takes place every February.  It also has its very own surf club, the Cottesloe Surf Life Saving Club which is always accepting new members.

4) South Perth

South Perth is a popular residential area due to its proximity to the city and also the beach. The foreshore called Sir James Mitchell Park is a great place to spend on the weekend, using the bbqs.  South Perth has the train line, the freeway and there is also a ferry people can take into the city, although it is underused at the moment.  South Perth is relatively expensive to live due to the desirable area.  Many people drive into work from South Perth,  For those running their own business, speak to the Australian Tax office in Northbridge and seek marketing promotion from companies such as Snap printing services in Perth.
