Interior design and home decor blogs have completely taken off in the past few years and now there are more than I could possibly count on any number of hands! These sites offer up truly unique and inspirational DIY ideas and decor styles that I know I would never have thought up on my own.
The projects on these blogs are awe-inspiring and the people who run them genuinely enjoy sharing their lives with friends and followers alike; they’re all just trying to create something beautiful and share that with others so they can enjoy the ideas in their own homes as well.
So, without further ado, here are some of the top design bloggers currently dominating the web (in no particular order!)
1. Elsie & Emma at www.abeautifulmess.com
This sister duo run a blog that covers topics from DIY projects to fashion to hair dye to delicious recipes. Their blog, titled A Beautiful Mess, has been online since 2007 and they’ve even had a book published. Some of their best DIY projects include the honeycomb shelves, make your own chalkboard paint, and a pallet vertical garden.
2. Michelle at www.4men1lady.com
Michelle is the lovely mother of 3 boys, who loves finding new ways to decorate her home. Her DIY sprinkler gate is perfect for kids in the summer. She also explains some of her other great projects, like DIY wall stencils and super easy chair covers.
3. Ana White at www.ana-white.com
Ana is an Alaskan mum who creates some truly stunning things for children’s rooms. Her sweet pea bunk bed can bring out the inner 6 year old in any woman and with her clear instructions you could also create a fun Z shaped (or any other letter really) shelf.
4. Sherry Petersik at www.younghouselove.com
Sherry and her husband John document all of their home improvement projects on their blog Young House Love and their work really is stunning and so well done. My favourite of all of their DIY projects is their bedroom wardrobe project in their first home.
5. Karen at www.theartofdoingstuff.com
Now Karen’s DIY projects differ a little from those of the bloggers above because she doesn’t just create things, she fixes those things you thought you needed to hand over big money to get working again – and she’ll teach you how to, too! Some of her great DIY fixes include replacing your window screen, fixing your dryer, and how to repair a slamming screen door.
Are there any incredible DIY bloggers out there that you think I should know about? Let me know in the comments!
Estelle Page is an interior designer who is constantly inspired by fellow online bloggers. She blogs for various companies like Mark Harris Furniture, who create beautiful home furniture.
