Two-time Academy Award winning director Ron Howard and two-time Academy Award nominated screenwriter Peter Morgan paired up to create Universal Pictures’ Rush.
This true story of the rivalry between the 1970s Formula 1 drivers James Hunt and Niki Lauda will star Chris Hemsworth as James Hunt and Daniel Brühl as Niki Lauda.
Other roles in the film will be held by Olivia Wilde, Alexandra Maria Lara, Stephen Mangan, Christian McKay, Julian Rhind-Tutt, Jamie de Courcey, Pierfrancesco Favino, and Natalie Dormer.
Howard and Morgan will bring Rush to the silver screen on the 20th of September.
The action-drama biography will reveal the dynamic of the greatest “frenimes” the world has ever seen.
The good-looking English playboy Hunt and his brilliant, perfectionist opponent, Lauda had an intense rivalry that also contained elements of friendship.
I probably wouldn’t go as far as to call them “friends” exactly, but perhaps associates isn’t that far of a stretch.
The film will not only show the audience their lives at the racing events but will also take us off the track and into their personal lives.
Rush follows the two drivers as they push themselves to the breaking point of physical and psychological endurance as one mistake could kill.
