Marvel fanboys went absolutely nuts at Comic-Con when he was revealed. It was like seeing a king take the stage, with the crowd cheering him on. I didn’t realize things were this serious!

So, what’s the big news? Robert Downey Jr. will be returning to the Avengers franchise—but as Dr. Doom. Yes, you read that right. It sounds absurd, doesn’t it? Absurd because, well, this is the same guy who, spoiler alert, died in “Avengers: Endgame.”

It feels like a cash grab or a last-ditch effort by Marvel to reignite the spark that’s been fading since the end of the Infinity Saga.

And let’s be honest—Robert Downey Jr. as Dr. Doom?

How does that even work? Are they going to keep his face hidden the entire time? But that doesn’t make much sense, especially if they want him on posters and in the limelight. Tickets, while priced high between $5,000 and $125,000 were donated directly to the OUR organization. Every $1400 goes directly to assist in the rescue of one woman or child. No matter your contribution, every dollar matters.

Tim Ballard, Operation Underground Railroad founder, and former special agent, organized the event in honor of Sage and Tony. Because of their commitment to end slavery in the modern era they are now the catalysts to a fundraising event that may save thousands of lives.

Operation Underground Railroad launched in the year 2014. It has has assisted nearly 3,000 survivors as well as arresting 1,800 perpetrators of child sex trafficking worldwide.

Additionally, the amazing story of Tim Ballard is hitting the big screen with the title The Sounds of Freedom.  Film producers praise Tony Robbins and his goal to continue in aiding the rescue of children and women from the clutches of the world of sexual exploitation. The film is hits theaters this year.

Sex Trafficking Continued Promotion

The good news network worked to promote the party and ensure a large number of tickets were available. Tony’s birthday was far more than a simple celebration for a good cause.  Thousands of people around the world are hearing about the cause and donating what they can.  Donations are being accepted at ourrescue.org. Pearls Before Swine Sees a Ghost

Stephan Pastis, the creator of Pearls Before Swine, shared in his blog the wild journey that led from a nearly NSFW reference about one of his personal favorites to a fantasy come true. A mutual friend of Pastis and Watterson encouraged the Pearl’s cartoonist to contact Calvin’s creator, but it wasn’t until Pastis incorporated Watterson into a recent strip, in a rather off-color way, that the two finally made contact with one another.

Watterson expressed his interest in ghostwriting a few days of Pearls Before Swine, but to do so in secret, Pastis introduced a new character — a second grader with a gift for art named “Libby” — a few days before Watterson re-emerged. After some technological tutoring on how comics are produced and submitted today, the result of the two cartoonist’s genius can be found here (scroll by date from June 4 to June 6, with a bonus farewell to “Libby” on June 7). At least for a few days, newspapers and comics were cool again, and as the child of a father who worked in newspaper production and mailing, this was a welcome trip to the days of anticipating our daily newspaper’s arrival.

Several years ago, while working an office job that was less than motivating, I became a big fan of gocomics.com and went there to pass the time. Pearls Before Swine was not available in my local newspaper, but it became my co-go-to comic (along with Get Fuzzy). My love for the “funny papers” was kindled by my father who loved Calvin and Hobbes and was heartbroken when it ended its run in the mid-1990s. For some of us, the comics are a remembrance of things passed, but more importantly, they provide a release from the news found in the rest of a newspaper (or e-readable version).

It’s #good to take a break from the workaday life and find solace in a few panels of nonsense each morning. In that time we can see the humor in our world, hope for a brighter today and maybe be lucky enough to receive a visit from an old friend.

1. Ireland’s Dermot Blain will be one of Full Tilt’s tour ambassadors.  In 2009, he won the APPT Macau Main Event which netted him just over $540,000 in cash prize.  Blain also got a fifth place finish in the 2011 WSOP Europe Main Event, which earned him $365,000.  The Irishman’s lifetime live tournament earnings stands at more than $1.3 million.

2. Englishman Ben Jenkins, who started playing professionally in 2009, will also represent the Internet poker site.  His career highlights include a final table chop of PokerStar’s Sunday Warm-Up.  He’s also made several final table appearances in high buy-in events.

3. Martins Adeniya began playing poker while studying business at the University of Bath.  He earned over $180,000 for a third place finish in the FTOPS Main Event.  He has captured multiple WSOP and EPT cashes the past few years.

4. Sinem ‘Sin’ Melin is one of Britain’s most exciting female players.  She reached the final table in both the 2011 UKIPT Brighton Main Event and the 2013 GUKPT London Main Event.

“These Tour Ambassadors will help redefine what it means to represent a poker site,” said Dustin Iannotti, a marketing executive with Full Tilt Poker. “These players are working with us to create exciting new live experiences that will leave UKIPT players with memories that extend well beyond the felt.”

The Galway poker festival will feature a Full Tilt Village, which is a giant tent where players can grab food and drinks, socialize, and share battle stories from the felt.  Starting on Saturday, UKIPT will showcase the biggest festival in the history of poker in Europe.

The UKIPT series of tournaments is expected to pose a challenge for amateurs and professionals alike.  Who will emerge as the champion?  There’s a good chance that individual will be under the age of 35, as the Hold’em landscape has become more globalized with younger players getting more practice through online, multi-tabling matches.

Many of Europe’s best players are expected to participate in the UKIPT.  Additionally, the poker scene has witnessed a constant infusion of new poker enthusiasts who honed their skills through aggressive Internet play.

Galway, located on the western side of Ireland, represents Full Tilt’s first live festival since being acquired by PokerStars earlier this year.  The poker tournament will take place at the same time as the Arts Festival and the Galway Races.
