Kate Upton Graces The Cover Of 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue
Kate Upton is one step closer to becoming a household name when she was given the cover of the 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. The 19 year old model graces the cover wearing nothing more than a tiny red-and-brown, sparkle-covered string bikini with a view of the waters of Australia behind her.
The beautiful Upton, who stands at 5 feet 10, was born in Michigan but raised in Florida. Her hometown is Melbourne, on Florida’s east coast. Asked about her upbringing she said ”In Florida, people walk around in their flip-flops, bikinis and jean shorts, so I’m very comfortable in a bathing suit.”
The 2012 Swimsuit issue is the second time she’s appeared in the annual issue. She was voted rookie of the year last year when Irina Shayk was on the cover. She credits living a healthy lifestyle, working out regularly, and watching what she eats as the key to her success. Although, she admits, she sneaks in the occasional ice cream and plate of fries every now and then.
