Washington, D.C. is the capital of the United States and is an amazing city that marks a lot of historical events in the United States’ past and present. It contains several districts within the city such as Downtown, West, East, North Central, and the Mall. These districts hold many monuments, museums, and shopping opportunities for the public’s enjoyment.
The White House and the U.S. Capitol building are obvious landmarks that are a must when visiting Washington, D.C. Other special monuments and buildings are the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, the Vietnam War Memorial, and the Reflecting Pool. Famous museums in the area include the Holocaust museum, Air and Space museum, and the National Natural History museum.
