The Boston Marathon bombings on April 15th made it painfully clear to Americans everywhere that we are still not safe. However, with the help of its citizens, our government can more effectively work toward that safety.
Yesterday, the 18th of April, Richard DesLauriers, FBI Special Agent in charge of the Boston field office, made the photos and video of two individuals suspected in the Boston bombing public on the FBI website.
Almost instantly, calls began to bombard the West Virginia bureau office and traffic to the site shot through the roof.
By the next morning, April 19th, both suspects were identified and one had been shot and killed after being chased by authorities and killing a cop.
The suspects are known to be brothers Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26 and Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, 19, of Cambridge, Mass.
The younger brother, Dzhokhar, is still on the run.
All public transit in the Boston area has ceased while authorities comb the streets for the second suspect.
Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick is urging all residents in and around Boston to “stay indoors, with their doors locked,” until further notice.
I will do my best to bring any updates as they arise.
