Jeff S. Korek
Jeff S. Korek was admitted to the New York and New Jersey State Bar Associations in 1986, as well as, the U.S. District Courts, Southern District and Eastern District of New York.  He’s been known for an aggressive style that gets results for his clients.

Though publications such as the New York Times have described Korek as influential, he is also something most people wouldn’t expect— compassionate.  The lawyer uses his litigation skills and more than 25 years of legal experience to help those who have sustained personal injury—victims of medical malpractice and construction accidents.

A founding partner of Gersowitz, Libo & Korek, Mr. Korek earned his BA at the State University of New York, Binghamton, NY and his JD at Hofstra University School of Law.  Korek joined the firm in 1992 as a key litigator and quickly developed a reputation for an aggressive style in the courtroom.

Since 2005, Korek has repeatedly been named among the most influential lawyers in the New York Metro area by Super Lawyers Magazine.  He previously served as president of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.

In one case, a client came to Korek’s office on behalf of her baby, who was seriously injured at birth by the doctor’s excessive use of forceps during the delivery. Korek’s legal team settled the malpractice case at more than $20,000,000—enough to take care of the child’s need throughout the course of his life.

A portion of the proceeds was paid up-front to cover immediate needs.  The remainder is scheduled to be distributed throughout the child’s lifetime.

In another case, Korek’s team managed to get a $10,000,000 settlement for a family that expected at least a four-week trial. The family’s baby had sustained a form of Erb’s Palsy due to medical negligence.  Erb’s Palsy is a paralysis of the arm caused by injury to the upper group of the arm’s main nerves.

One 31-year-old man who suffered permanent injuries because of his doctors’ failure to diagnose him with toxoplasmosis got a $4.6 million settlement in New York County. Though he will continue to face seizures, speech and cognitive delays, the injured individual now possesses the funds to pay for his medical bills.

Throughout his career, Jeff Korek has been fighting on behalf of victims.  He was recently called one of New York Magazine’s Best Lawyers in New York.
