Jaguar Plans To Drive The First Diesel XF Across The U.S.

The very first Jaguar diesel XF has touched down in America, and no you can’t buy it because Jaguar has bigger plans for their new sedan. The good folks over at Jaguar have planned a cross country trip for their new 2.2-liter diesel four. They plan to drive the luxurious sedan from New York to Los Angeles, a trip that will cover eleven states and over 2,800 miles, in just seven days. The whole point of this drive is to see how far the car can travel on a single tank of fuel. This isn’t the first time Jaguar drove cross country in a car, a similar drive was done in Europe that took a different XF diesel across 816 miles from Castle Bromwich in the UK to Munich, Germany, on a single tank. The team managed to get an average of 57 miles per gallon on the EU cycle, enough to make any hybrid jealous.
