Google Plan To Launch Music Service Without Warner Or Sony Records
Google has been sending out invites and getting ready for their big press conference on Wednesday, where the tech giant is expected to speak about adding a new download service to it’s cloud music service, and well as new social networking features. Google has already signed licensing agreements for their new music service with Universal Music Group, but have yet to finalize a deal with Sony Music Entertainment or Warner Music Group. The major music labels are looking for an alternative to Apple iTunes, and feel that Google has enough resources to make it happen. This coincides with what Google wants to do because they want to offer first-class music and movie services to users of Android, which now has 40 percent of the smart phone market. The labels aren’t completely backing Google arguing that for Google to challenge Apple and offer a feature-rich service, the search company needs music from all the top record companies as well as all the licenses.
