Syrian Crackdown On protesters Results In 20 Deaths
The Syrian government came down hard on protesters in the city of Homs today, resulting on 20 protesters losing their lives. The people have been protesting President Assad’s rule for months now, and they want him out of power. The Arab League has condemned the attacks against protesters, and has repeatedly called on President Assad to step down. This is the third straight day that gunfire has erupted in the city of Homs, with no end in sight.
Many people thought that Assad would be a better ruler than his father, but he turned out to be just as harsh a ruler as his old man. Reports are always coming out that Assad does not have control over his military, and he is struggling to stay in power. But many people expect Assad to step down relatively soon after the Arab league demanded change in the country. But analysts say whoever comes after President Assad may be just as bad, if not worse than the President Assad.
