22 Fake Apple Stores Have Been Found In China
Police authorities in Kunming began searching out the copycat apple stores after pictures of one convincing replica were released on the web earlier this year. An early search by authorities had uncovered five fake stores, two of which were shut down for trading without a licence.
Chinese trade officials have now confirmed that 22 stores have been found unlawfully using Apple’s brand and logo. The investigation was started when an American living in the city published a blog post describing a visit to one such shop. The shops have officially been told to stop using the logos as Chinese laws prohibit copying the “look and feel” of another company without permission.
The question thats on everyone’s mind is whether the shops being shut down were selling products bought from Apple distributors in the country or grey market imports.
