2. The Great Barrier Reef

3. Phillip Island

Philip Island in Victoria is a small island near Melbourne. It can be reached in less than half a day from the city. The island’s greatest attraction is its little penguin parade. For those wishing to gain a close and personal experience of native animals, the nightly stroll of penguins from the sea to the beach is a heart warming sight. The creatures come very close to the spectators but strict conservation measures are in place to protect them. The penguin parade is one of Victoria’s most exciting and memorable adventures.

4. Uluru

Once known as Ayers Rock, Uluru is a large red sandstone formation, or rock, in the centre of Australia. It is located close to the city of Alice Springs in the Northern territory and is one of Australia’s most important land features. The area is in the hands of the Anangu people. Tours of Uluru and information about its cultural significance are available. Uluru is a world heritage listed site and is home to many springs, land formations, and rock paintings which are of deep significance to the traditional owners.

5. Bondi Beach

Bondi Beach in Sydney’s eastern suburbs is one of Australia’s most famous beaches. The beach features in many tourist brochures and is notable because of its close proximity to the city. Bondi is famous for its tourists. British and New Zealand visitors often spend Christmas Day at the beach and it turns into an alcohol fuelled party venue.
Australia has many natural and manmade attractions including Sydney Harbour, Uluru and the Great Barrier Reef.
