Houston NBA All-Star Game Is A Slam Dunk

Basketball Player Slam DunkThere was a strong emphasis placed on community events when Houston hosted the 2013 NBA All-Star Game. For example, several of the players who were in town donated their time to visit patients at the Children’s Hospital at Memorial Hermann. There were multiple other projects that various players participated in, including helping out at the Houston Food Bank, building a playground and various home refurbishments.

The Houston area also benefited from the tourism that the event brought into the area. There were fans of every NBA team in attendance, and the majority of them stayed at hotels in the city. Events such as the NBA All-Star Game always provide a positive boost to the economy and morale of the host city, and it is therefore a big perk to be selected. In addition to all of the charitable work that was done by the players, the city also received positive press from news outlets around the world.
